Saint Paul parish offers a variety of faith education programs for all ages. We have programs for children starting with Kindergarten and up, including children with special needs, as well as adult faith formation sessions. For more information on our programs visit each program page.
Classroom Catechist/Teacher Regular, weekly or bi-weekly: Catechists provide religious instruction to a group of students using approved text books and materials. They are guided by the curriculum standards of the Archdiocese of Washington and are under the supervision of the parish Director of Religious Education. Training, formation and ongoing support are provided. |
Classroom Teacher's Aide Regular, weekly or bi-weekly: Teacher's Aides assist the catechist in such ways as taking attendance, supervising children, helping students complete activities, and overseeing the safety of students. |
Session Assistant Regularly or occasionally: Session Assistants act as hall monitors, host families or session coordinators. These volunteers are registered members of the parish, who help make sure the physical learning environment is safe, clean and appropriate for learning. Their duties may include setting up/breaking down tables and chairs, locking up, emptying trash, general clean up and other activities. They also monitor who accesses the learning spaces. |
Adult Involvement in Religious Education Programs Regularly or occasionally: Parents, as well as other Catholic adults in our parish feel called to and are welcome to join our ministry in a variety of ways. If you do not wish to join our team on a regular basis but would like to be involved, we are in need of families willing to donate a meal for an event or there are many other opportunities to make an impact as well. |
Involvement in Adult Faith Formation Volunteers are occasionally needed to provide support for programs or retreats. |
Administrative Support Occasionally: Assist with setup/breakdown of facilities, such as moving tables and chairs or setting up work stations, etc. Assist as needed to prepare for classes and special programs by providing general administrative support. |
