Knights of Columbus
Description
The Knights of Columbus (KOC) is a century-old service organization of Catholic Men guided by four core principles - charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The founder's initial objective was the establishment of an Order that would unite men in their faith as well as provide for Catholic families in times of need. These Knights organize support for our community's mentally challenged children and adults. Family dinners are sponsored by the Knights at various occasions; between the evening Masses of Holy Days of Obligation, after the Right to Life March, as well as for no other reason than just to join families and neighbors in a good-time meal. On occasion, the Knights' provide fiscal and physical assistance to the different ministries within the parish; the bi-annual Good-As-New Sale, the decorating and the un-decorating of the Church, support to the Youth Ministry, etc. Within the Order itself, there are four "Degrees" of Knighthood, each one meant to exemplify one of the four core principles. To become a full Knight, each member is encouraged to attain the Third Degree Level, after which, he can go to the Fourth Degree. This level embodies patriotism and is the most visible of all Degrees.

Meetings/Events
Regular meetings are held at the Church Hall: A business meeting on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 PM and a social meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 8:00 PM.

Natural Family Planning
This is not our parents calendar-rhythm method from the 1960's. Our goal is to promote Natural Family Planning (NFP) as a safe, healthy and effective means of family planning, and to teach the Sympto-Thermal Method of NFP, which is 99% effective, according to a US government study.

The NFP course (4 classes) is offered twice a year. Meetings are held at the Mangan's home in Damascus. Special events: NFP Awareness week each July.
