Essentials of the Faith: Guide to Catechism – another narrative companion to the Catechism

Supper of the Lamb – a fascinating look at the correlation between the Holy Mass and the Book of Revelation, by gifted speaker and author, Scott Hahn.

At Home in Mitford – first book in a series; these books are sweet, and upbeat, with easy to like characters and a setting as warm and comfortable as your favorite sweater.

A Fire in the Cloud – reflects Father Francis’ life-time dedication to the Scriptures, deep prayer, and spiritual direction. The Fire in the Cloud is a wonderful companion for Lent.

Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Ilibagiza

“I heard the killers call my name.” Thus begins a true tale of terror and love that is unlike any you have ever read. In this story, the author takes you through the horror of unbridled hate and tragic personal loss. Yet through her experiences, she discovers a new depth to her faith and she learns to love beyond what seems humanly possible. This is a story of how miracles and God’s redeeming grace can conquer fear, cruelty, and a need for revenge. If you buy a copy of this book, you will want to pass it on to others.

The Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn

Does the Mass seem like Heaven on Earth to you? Does the Book of Revelation seem like a weird sci-fi story? For a fascinating look at the correlation between the Holy Mass and the Book of Revelation, I recommend this book! Scott Hahn will surely captivate you with his description of the "golden thread of the Liturgy" which runs from the beginning to the end of the Apocalypse. You will grow in your love of the Mass AND the Book of Revelation by reading The Lamb's Supper!
- by Jane Applegate, parent

If you ever wanted to understand the origins of the Mass, the book of Revelations, or how these two are connected, this is the book for you. Hahn's conversational and enthusiastic style engages the reader in language that they can understand and relate to their own lives, while still challenging them to see the connections and grasp the larger, eternal picture that is at the heart of Catholic worship. Drawing on the Bible, the early Church fathers, the wisdom of the saints, the Catechism, and papal statements, Scott Hahn shows how the Church has always understood and used the book of Revelations as a model of Christian worship. A thoughtful and prayerful reading of this book will open the reader to new ideas and a whole new but entirely authentic way of looking at what may be the most familiar part of the faith: the holy Mass.

The Great Themes of Scripture: Old Testament by Richard Rohr by Joseph Martos
I enjoyed reading this book more than I expected. I felt the content was really in touch with the questions so many Catholics have about the meaning of the scriptures and their own spirituality. It’s an easy read though so insightful. You’ll walk away with a much greater understanding of the Old Testament and comfort with the scriptures that you’ll actually want to read the Bible more often.

Catholicism for Dummies
Ok, this book is for all those Catholics who forgot what they learned in CCD and are now being asked questions by their children. From information about what happens at the Mass to instructions on how to pray the Rosary, every Catholic will learn something new about their faith from this book. A great reference.
